Greetings Church Family,
I hope all are doing well as we practice social distancing and so are, as an ad on CBS states, “Alone-together”.
Bishop Malone shared a concern with her pastors in East Ohio Conference yesterday. Her concern is about our need for spiritual connection in addition to ongoing virtual connection during these days. Bishop Malone has asked pastors to be creative in finding ways to celebrate Holy Communion together-yet at a distance.
I was thinking that all who would like to participate can purchase bread and grape juice, and I will tape a short Communion Service that we share together at 12:00 PM on Sunday. Of course, if this time may not be appropriate for everyone, so, feel free to choose another time that will fit into your schedule. This manner of celebration is unusual, but the Bishop has asked us to put the Spirit first and to keep the joy of this opportunity for celebration together first and foremost in our hearts.
So, I hope that folks will consider this creative opportunity to share Holy Communion together on Sunday, and that this note will provide you enough time to prepare to celebrate with us. Look for the Communion Service e-mail in the near future. Please feel free to share your thoughts with me around this or other topics anytime.
