Lea Mahan has happily come out of retirement to, again, serve Peninsula UMC. She pastored our church from 1982 until 2004 when she was appointed to the First UMC in Wellington, Ohio. She retired from that church in 2013.

She and her husband, Rick Bohan, have worshipped with us since her retirement. Lea enjoys serving this congregation that is small but mighty, making outreach and hospitality the center of our mission. We celebrate our Church’s reconciling status. This means all are welcome, including LGBTQ persons. All means all here at PUMC!

Rick and Lea are parents to three adult children: Laura-Lea (husband Kenny Van Hook), Dylan Price (wife Kate) and Brian Bohan (partner Ryan). They are proud grandparents of Allyson, Emily, Matt, Ethan, Wesley, Calvin and Max.

Rick and Lea live in Akron but consider Peninsula UMC home.
