I’m New Here

Welcome! Our doors are open to everyone and diversity is very important to us. Visiting any new church can be intimidating and you may have several questions.   We’ve attempted to answer a few of them here, but if you still have questions, please call the church office at 330-657-2567.

Q: What types of Sunday services do you have?

A: Due to COVID restrictions our services have changed – please contact us for the latest info.

Q: How should I dress?

A: Come as you are – we’re casual.

Q: Where should I park?

A: Parking is available in the church lot behind the church or in any available legal space on Peninsula’s streets.  Note: outside of church hours our parking lot also serves the public with a volunteer donation box. Church worship service attendees do not donate for parking.

Q: What if I have physical limitations?

A: We have a ramp entrance that leads to the sanctuary and a ramp entrance leading to the kitchen/reception area and restrooms.

Q: Do I have to be a member of the church or be a United Methodist Member to attend?

A: No, everyone is welcome to participate. Membership is open to anyone and everyone upon request.

Q: Can I participate in Communion?

A: Yes, all who are looking to have a relationship with God are welcome at our communion table. You do not need to be a member.

Q: What options are there for my children?

A: Children of all ages are welcome to worship with us. We offer childcare for toddlers and preschoolers up to 4 years old and Sunday School for children 4-12 years old (during the school year schedule.)  We operate under a Safe Sanctuary Policy for child protection.

Q: What opportunities are available for music expression?

A: Music is an important part of PUMC. Everyone is invited to sing in the choir and share their musical talents.  Music is part of the children’s program also.

Q: Are LGBTQ people welcome too?

A: Absolutely! We not only accept LGBT people, we celebrate them! At our church, ALL MEANS ALL
